Welcome to our site about Brookhaven Bank - an unresponsive and uncaring neighbor!

Completely unsecured, partially standing, if I were still 7-14 years old I would definitely have to look/play in this place. But Brookhaven Bank doesn't want to spend the money!

Come on in - the door is open!!!

No fence, no plywood, wide open site 80' from townhouses! But look - there's a sign, that ought to work to keep kids out!

Brookhaven Bank, finally submitted for a demolition permit after months of dragging it's heels waiting for a sale or a miracle, but it has been over a month since it was rejected, and, how hard do you really think it is to get a demolition permit for a burned abandoned property that is a public nuissance and danger? Trying? I think not.

Brookhaven Bank owns property in a vibrant residential and commercial neighborhood called Brookhaven Hills but refuses to protect the public from a truly dangerous situation. Brookhaven Bank is a BAD & UNCARING NEIGHBOR!!!

Brookhaven Bank in Atlanta is apparently the reluctant owner of several contiguous properties located at the corner of Dresden Drive and Elijay (the proper address is 1377 Dresden Drive, Atlanta, GA 30319 in Dekalb County).

Because they failed to reasonably secure these abandoned older homes, one of them burned but the fire was put out fairly quickly. Then, months later because they once again didn't want to put any money into the property, it was burned again around Christmas in 2010 and has been sitting as shown in the photos since then. This is a very vibrant, very active, very young family neighborhood called Brookhaven Hills.

Mikel Muffley of Muffley & Associates Real Estate http://muffleyhomes.com represents the property, but even he seems resigned to the lack of responsiveness of the bank.

Brookhaven Bank's main office is located at:

Bank in Trouble?

Now, based upon what I have read and heard (here's one site http://banktracker.investigativereportingworkshop.org/banks/georgia/atlanta/brookhaven-bank/ ) apparently Brookhaven Bank is in financial trouble, the problem that I have is that many businesses & people are in trouble these days, BUT they put their own interests above that of public safety - and I defy anyone to argue that the photos don't represent real and true public danger! If you're in that much trouble either give up and have your assets move to a more stable entity or prioritize your spending.
